Transporter Design Awards
Our design of the Transporter picked up an Honoree award from Core77 and was a finalist in the Industrial Designers Society of America Awards.
Advisor to Connected Data, Inc.
Rick served as an Advisor to Connected Data as they progressed through their start-up phase that included a successful Kickstarter campaign and the launch of the first product Transporter. Rick advised on the interaction design and designed the product and packaging along with their corporate identity.
Lily Pad: 1st place in Doug Mockett Design Competition
After the design competition Lily was developed into prototypes, including an integrated charging pad, and were shown at NeoCon, North America's largest design exposition and conference for commercial interiors. More news on availability soon.
1000 Product Designs
The book 1000 Product Designs, edited by Eric Chan, selected two seven02 projects for inclusion; drobo and one or a bunch.

Sunny Memories: Solar Design Exhibition & Lecture

Jot: Metropolis Magazine & OFS Hotseat3 Finalist
Our concept for a lounge seating system was one of three finalists in the Metropolis Magazine / OFS brands Hotseat3 Competition. Rick presented the design in Santa Monica, CA at the awards ceremony.
You wait. You text. You talk. You make notes. Jot is a system of lounge seating with an integral tablet surface. "Jot" is seeking a production partner.

The Automatic Teapot is an IDEA Finalist in the 2008 IDSA IDEA Competition sponsored by the Industrial Designers Society of America and Business Week magazine.
Keynote Speaker: Innovation Conference – Taipei, Taiwan
"Design Makes it Different When All Else is the Same" was the topic of Rick Lewis' keynote talk at the 2007 SME Innovation & Transition Conference in Taipei, Taiwan. The symposium, hosted by the Small & Medium Enterprise Administration, Ministry of Economics and the China Productivity Center, focused on challenges facing companies as they look to grow in the global marketplace.
drobo, is short for data robot, industrial design for start-up Data Robotics.
SFO Airport Museum: Prototype to Product Exhibition
The Tea Spot Automatic Teapot, was featured at the SFO Airport Museum Exhibition – Prototype to Product Exhibition. July 2007-January 2008. The exhibition featured thirty-three projects from the San Francisco Bay Area design community.

The Luna: Light + Air Door, designed for COCIF Cooperativa, won a 2006 Industrial Design Excellence Award [IDEA] sponsored by Business Week Magazine.

The Luna: Light + Air Door, designed for COCIF Cooperativa, won a Honorable Mention in the La Porta del Paradiso / a door to paradise competition by designboom.
Luna was also exhibited at the Milan Furniture Fair in the Milan Triennale.

Magic: designs that engage, inspire and satisfy was Rick's topic for his speech at the 2004 International Housewares Show in Chicago.

Juror: 2004 IDSA Industrial Design Excellence Awards
Rick was a juror for the 2004 Industrial Designers Society of America IDEA Awards. An exciting experience over the course of two days with all 17 jurors reviewing, voting and debating the merits of the entries.

Workshop: Designing the Experience / Taipei, Taiwan
Rick led a two day workshop on what designing experiences is all about at the China Productivity Center Innovation Design Conference. The workshop included hands-on lessons.
Attendees included design managers and designers from companies including Acer, Tsann Kuen, Mustek and Tatung University.
